The Cross of Calvary
Christ’s cross is another difference between Christianity and every other of the world’s major religions.
The cross is the power of God unto salvation, meaning that Jesus’s cross is like a huge vacuum cleaner for all the sin, sickness and disease in the universe both now, in the past and in the future.
In the Book of Isaiah, Isaiah said he had a vision of Jesus on the cross, that “he was marred beyond the visage of any human being” meaning that the sight he saw of Jesus, the Son of God on the cross was hideous.
Jesus bore all yours and my sins, sickness and diseases on the cross. In return he gave us His health, His prosperity and His well being.
When we repent, confess our sins to Jesus, He bears them in his body which was broken on the cross and gives us His righteousness – His right standing with God. We are then forgiven and can stand in the presence of God, cleansed and made whole.
This is done and appropriated by faith. This faith is God-given and contains the miracle working power of God.
Jesus’ blood contains the eternal life of God the Father. When we receive it into our lives and appropriate it to wash even the vilest of sins away, it works and washes us whiter than snow.
Jesus’ blood can cleanse us also from disease, sickness and poverty in any area of our lives.
Jesus’ blood can cleanse us from any demonic activity in our lives and any curse, as it contains the life of God – the life of the flesh is in the blood.
If you don’t believe me then just claim Jesus blood on an area of your life you need God to touch you and restore you, and watch what happens.
Jesus’ body was broken on the cross. All our sins and iniquities caused that. Then the blood flowed out to bring our ultimate deliverance, victory over death which is to live forever, because Jesus bore our death on the cross and went to hell for us so we don’t have to go there …
If we don’t accept this then we shall bear our own death, which is separation from God. But, if you do receive Him you will be like John the disciple and lie close to Jesus for ever.
The Blood of Jesus also cleanses us from all sin when we have fellowship with other Christians and go to church regularly. As the Bible says, “when we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin”.
How does this work. Imagine if a small piece of your little finger was cut off, it would die. Why? Because the blood would stop flowing to it. It would not get the nutrients and life that is contained in the blood. This happens if we don’t fellowship with other Christians or go to church regularly. We gradually wither up and our Christian life dies as we are separated from the body of Christ, the church.
When we fellowship regularly with other Christians the miraculous life giving substance , the blood of Jesus flows through the body and into our lives and we get made whole.
He has done what no other man or women could do. Why? Because he is in love with you.
